Tools & Resources

The DIG had everything I needed to build out my electric motorcycle, from 3D printing, to electronics, to all the hand tools to assemble the components.
— (Maybe) Mitchell

The DIG is equipped with a broad range of tools and equipment to help you make your idea a reality. Some of the tools require training and certifications, others are available for you to use from day one.

Workshops & Trainings

Every week the DIG has trainings and workshops available for all patrons. Trainings teach you how to use equipment and tools. Workshops are an opportunity to make something interesting. All participants must register through SMU360. Check out the CALENDAR below to see what is coming up.

At the Deason Innovation Gym, we are not afraid to experiment. No idea is too wild. We enable patrons of all disciplines and backgrounds to realize their ideas by giving them the tools and space to make beyond the bounds of traditional classrooms. At the DIG, we learn by doing and grow through failure.

Through extra-curricular programming, from student-initiated projects, to workshops, short-term collaborative projects and immersive, multi-day design challenges, students engage in purpose-driven learning, practicing their technical skills and developing their ability to work together to solve complex problems.

Patrons are encouraged to pursue projects, big and small, that interest them. Our informal learning space is the perfect place for you to explore, push yourself and develop your ability to struggle through ambiguity, persevere in the face of challenges, and drive towards an great solution.
